The Car Park was commissioned by Paralimni Municipality to satisfy the need for a modern and safe parking place in the heart of the city right next to the Municipality Offices. The Employer required a good quality structure with focus on durability allowing for minimum maintenance and at the same time good aesthetics. Finally, the most important requirement was space for at least 300 cars. The building has the above-mentioned capacity for 300 cars, including spaces for disabled persons and spaces for electric cars with provision for chargers. It will be served by 3 elevators and will have three separate entrances and exits for pedestrians. Due to the building’s irregular layout we opted for RC structure, specifying advanced concrete mixes using micro silica concrete for the superstructure and integral crystalline water proofing admixtures for the sub-structures. The building’s light design is fully automatic with movement sensors for reduced electricity consumption and there are provisions for the latest state of the art parking management solutions with sensors indicating vacant spaces and allowable capacity.
